China | Auto Tariff Suspension

Okay. This tweet is generally accurate. Today, China announced a “90-day suspension of tariff increases on $126 billion of U.S. cars, trucks and auto parts following its trade truce with Washington.“.

But is the U.S. really doing “very well” in this trade war? GM may disagree with that assessment. Too, the announcement completely ignores the tariffs applied to U.S. crops. U.S. farmers will not experience any relief as a result of this concession.

Analysts in the media are still sorting through what, exactly, this means for Americans relying on the ACA. I heard one reporter say that it was ruled unconstitutional because it no longer has the Individual Mandate – which Congress removed last (?) year. There is much more information needed to understand what, exactly, this ruling means.
